Enrollment Process
Now Accepting All Applications for 2009-2010
1. Observations
Before considering enrollment, new families are required to observe the classroom that their child would be entering. To do so, please call the CMH office at 683-4757 to schedule a date to observe. At this time, additional information and all necessary applications will be provided.
It is also required that parents of children already enrolled and moving up a level within CMH observe in the class to which their child will be moving. Please call the school and arrange to do this before completing enrollment.
2. New Students
Children's Meeting House has a Priority Registration Policy which states that current students and their siblings are given first priority for enrollment in early February. The remaining openings are then offered to new families in mid to late February. Students with special needs will be considered on an individual basis. For a new child to apply for enrollment, just submit a New Student Application, along with the non-refundable application fee of $150.00 per child.
3. Classroom Visits
After your New Student Application has been received you will be contacted to schedule a classroom visit for your child.
- Pre-primary children (preschool through Kindergarten) meet with teachers in the classroom for 30 minutes, scheduled afterschool.
- Elementary age children spend two consecutive days in their prospective classroom, during the regular school day.
4. Tuition Contract and Deposit
Once you have been notified of your child(ren)'s acceptance you will be mailed a tuition contract which you will need to sign and return with a non-refundable tuition deposit of 10% of the annual tuition per child to guarantee the placement of your child(ren).
5. Enrollment Forms and School Supply Lists
After the tuition contract and deposit have been received, you will be given a password (usually in May or June) to access the Parent's "LOG IN" section on the website. Here you will be able to access your annual enrollment forms (physical examination forms, release forms, etc...), school supply lists, and other important information.
6. Provisional Acceptance
New children are defined as those entering a class level, (Pre-Primary, All-Day Pre-Primary, Junior Elementary and Senior Elementary) for the first time. This applies whether the child is moving from one classroom to the next within CMH or is entering our school from another environment. All new children are accepted provisionally (for 6 weeks) pending a decision by the classroom teachers regarding the ability of the child to have a successful experience, and the ability of the teachers to meet the needs of the child. The Board of Trustees supports the teachers as the appropriate persons within our structure to make this decision with the parents of the child.
Non-Discriminatory Policy
Children's Meeting House Montessori School admits students of any race, color, religion, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of policies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic and other school-administered programs.
